I Love Summer....

And all it's pedicury goodness.

This is my favorite time of year. It's funny because my mom hates the summer and loves the winter. I was thinking maybe it's because we were both born during our favorite seasons, and we probably associate good memories with that time of year. I always had birthday parties in the backyard with great summer food and home made birthday cakes. I have many pictures of "helping" my Dad wash the cars in the driveway wearing little halter tops my mom sewed herself. Then I realized, if we get our child in September, there's a good chance they were born during a summer month. That makes me so happy, because I can give our child some of those same great experiences. While I am really thankful to be able to adopt a newborn, I do have a slight pang of envy for those of you who get toddlers. The interaction with a toddler is so priceless, I don't know if I will be able to wait until those years. Of course I will, and I know I will enjoy all a baby has to offer as well, but I can't wait until the day the child can say "I love you" back!

So what is your favorite time of year and why? Does your choice relate to your childhood memories? If so, what are they?

Okay, time to go stretch out in the sun!

I love Summer as well. I was born in the Fall near Halloween. My family went all out for this holiday- made a haunted house in our basement for the neighbor kids, etc. I used to love having a birthday at this time, but being an adult now Halloween just isn't quite the same. It's too bad. Still, I love Fall too.

I love Spring. I was born in April and I love april showers and may flower, pink, lavendar and my "colors" are spring colors. April in NC is perfect vs CT where it just was awful. and ME where I went to college and it was SNOWING.

I love spring and fall. I'm usually sick of winter and summer by the end so the change in season is always welcome. Your kitty appears to be thoroughly enjoying her/himself!

I'm all about fall. I live in the north so it's just gorgeous here in autumn.

I don't like summer much because I don't like being hot. I think late autumn is best - crisp air, sunny days, fallen leaves. No threat of heat coming soon to haunt me. But I'm born in January, so that connection doesnt' work.

I used to love winter as a kid because of the snow and lack of AC in our house. Now that I live near the beach, and am a teacher, the summer is my favorite season. My b-day is August 3rd and I always throw myself a party to make up for the lack of them as a kid.
O/T So exciting that you are getting a newborn. You'll have all the more time to bond and take lots of baby pictures! : )

I am an Autumn girl. I love the scent of the crisp evening air, the warm inviting colors of the season, seasonal cooking and of course, Halloween!

As a former swimmer, I love time in the water. As a t-shirt I saw says: "Genuine Redhead - keep out of direct sunlight." That goes for both me and DH...and Phoenix in the summer...ick. But I do love a good thunderstorm!

Found your blog from a comment over at the Yarn Harlot. Good luck on the adoption process...we are about a month away from our due date in a private/newborn adoption!
